I am Rob Hassett, an attorney in Atlanta, and I provide legal services in the corporate, technology and entertainment areas. I mostly represent creative people, many of whom have or will become very successful. I spend most of my time setting up corporations and limited liability companies, including advising about and drafting shareholder and operating agreements, and negotiating agreements that involve intellectual property issues including patents, trademarks, copyrights and rights of privacy and publicity.
I have written numerous articles and spoken on numerous occasions about my areas of practice. You can read many of my articles, which were originally published elsewhere, on another website I own and operate, InternetLegal.com. I also was a co-author of the volume (one of ten volumes) on Internet and Interactive media law of the leading treatise on entertainment industry contracts published by Lexis/Nexis.
I have taught many classes in the Professional Education Program at Georgia Tech. Many of my clients are on the cutting edge of and are leaders in their fields. Clients have included Street Resource Group, Cogent Education, MailChimp, America’s Favorite Chicken (for computer related purchases – at the time Popeye’s, Church’s Chicken, Cinnabon and Seattle’s Best Coffee, among other brands), AppRiver, Conarc, World’s Fastest Drummer (over 12 million views of videos about their competitions on the Internet), Rockin’ Finance, Crawford Communications, Radical Logistics, Holistic Design and Anna Griffin, Inc.
I am currently General Counsel of the Georgia Game Developers Association and the Co-Chair of the annual Investment Day at SIEGE (which is part of the GGDA’s annual SIEGE event).
Recently, I built a flowchart to illustrate the new tax deductions for pass-through businesses. This was posted in Forbes, you can find the article here.
